Position Info:

• Position: Cook
• Terms of employment: Full-time, Permanent
• Wage: $24.00/hour
• Working Hours: 30-40 hours/week
• Number of Positions:  1
• Work Location: 2041 West 4th Avenue, #101 Vancouver, BC V6J 1N3

Job Duties:

• Prepare and cook menu items, including healthy bowls, café dishes, baked goods, and other bistro items according to TurF’s recipes and quality standards
• Prepare food items for customers with dietary restrictions, allergies, or intolerances, including vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free requests when required
• Estimate food portions, ingredient needs, and preparation quantities to support daily bistro, takeout, and delivery operations
• Request and organize food ingredients, kitchen supplies, and other cooking materials needed for daily service
• Inspect kitchen, food preparation, and service areas to ensure cleanliness, food safety, and proper sanitation standards are maintained
• Maintain records of food inventory, supplies, equipment, and stock usage to reduce waste and support smooth kitchen operations
• Assist in training kitchen helpers and junior staff in food preparation, cooking methods, and safe food handling procedures
• Clean and maintain kitchen workstations, equipment, and storage areas before, during, and after service

Job requirements:

• Language: English
• Experience: 2-3 years of commercial cooking experience is required
• Education: Completion of secondary school is required
