Sushi On is seeking a F/T Head Chef.

Position Info:

• Position: Head Chef
• Terms of employment: Full-time, Permanent
• Wage: $37.50~$39.00/hour (depending on experience)
• Working Hours: 30-40 hours/week
• Number of Positions:  1
• Work Location: 201-2020 Oxford Connector, Port Coquitlam, BC V3C 0A4

Job Duties:

• Lead the daily preparation and cooking of sushi, sashimi, and entrees
• Supervise kitchen staff and cooks during service to maintain efficiency and food quality
• Manage the preparation of altered dishes for guests with food allergies or dietary restrictions
• Train staff in cooking techniques, proper knife skills, and food safety standards
• Estimate food consumption and kitchen needs to determine required order volumes
• Order kitchen supplies, fresh ingredients from suppliers
• Track food costs, inventory levels, sales patterns, and daily kitchen waste
• Develop new recipes and plan menus that align with quality and cost standards
• Arrange for the purchase, routine maintenance, and repair of kitchen equipment

Job requirements:

• Experience: 5 or more years of commercial cooking experience in a supervisory or chef position
• Education: Completion of secondary school is required
• Language: English
