We are looking for a well-experienced Corporate Chef for a well-known events and catering firm, Paramount Eventspace, located at 222 Rowntree Dairy Rd, Woodbridge, ON L4L 9T2 Canada.

JOB DUTIES:

 

  • Plan, direct, and oversee all food preparation and cooking activities across multiple events, banquets, and corporate functions to ensure consistent culinary standards.

  • Establish and maintain culinary guidelines that blend classic Italian cooking principles with adaptable menus suited to large-scale event service.

  • Lead menu development and refinement for weddings, corporate events, and special functions, ensuring food quality, presentation, and operational feasibility.

  • Oversee preparation of core menu components such as sauces, pastas, proteins, vegetables, and accompaniments, drawing on Italian culinary techniques where appropriate.

  • Standardize recipes, preparation methods, portion sizes, and plating standards to ensure consistency across high-volume service environments.

  • Estimate food, ingredient, and labour requirements for large-scale events, implementing cost-control and waste-reduction strategies.

  • Collaborate with senior management, event planners, and clients to design customized menus that meet event objectives and guest expectations.

  • Participate directly in food preparation and cooking during major events, tastings, or critical service periods to maintain standards.

  • Oversee sourcing, purchasing, and inventory management of food products and specialty ingredients, ensuring quality and supply continuity.

  • Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and hygiene regulations across all kitchen facilities and event locations.

  • Support recruitment, training, and professional development of culinary staff to maintain leadership continuity and operational excellence.


 

Prerequisites:

 

Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent

Experience & Skills: 3 years to 5 years experience preferably in the Food industry

Language: English


 

Hourly Wage: $36 to $38 for 30 to 40 hours per week

Starting Date: As soon as possible

Terms of Employment: Fulltime and permanent
