Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform routine laboratory analyses on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products using methods such as pH measurement, viscosity and Brix testing, and allergen (peanut-free) verification, and interpret results to support quality decisions.
  • Develop and carry out sampling programs for production materials to support monitoring of chemical, physical, and microbiological parameters.
  • Document, review, and interpret analytical results to verify compliance with internal specifications and regulatory standards.
  • Review and verify Critical Control Point (CCP) monitoring records, traceability documentation, and quality logs to ensure compliance with HACCP, regulatory requirements, and internal standards.
  • Conduct floor inspections, metal detector checks, scale calibrations, environmental monitoring (EMP), allergen swabbing, and sanitation verification to maintain GMP, BRC, and customer-specific standards.
  • Lead internal audits for Peanut-Free, Kosher, Organic, and BRC certifications, and support external audits through document preparation, corrective actions, and compliance tracking.
  • Manage quality programs including Allergen Control, Environmental Monitoring, sanitation procedures, and supplier approval, including risk assessments and verification activities.
  • Collaborate with R&D, Production, and Supply Chain teams to support product evaluations, process improvements, testing during trials, and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Prepare and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Certificates of Analysis (CoAs), product specifications, and other technical documentation for internal teams and customer portals.
  • Conduct traceability exercises and mock recalls to validate product identification, labeling, and tracking systems.
  • Investigate non-conformances and quality deviations, identify root causes, and recommend preventive and corrective actions.
  • Train employees on quality procedures, chemical testing methods, documentation practices, GMP, and safety protocols.
  • Maintain accurate laboratory and production records to ensure compliance with regulatory, audit, and certification requirements.

 


 

Job Requirements

  • College diploma or university degree in Chemistry, Chemical Technology, Food Science, Public Health or a related field
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in a laboratory, quality assurance, or food manufacturing environment
  • Experience with chemical and analytical testing methods such as pH, Brix, viscosity, and allergen verification
  • Knowledge of HACCP, GMP, BRC, allergen control, and food safety regulations
  • Proficiency in English (oral and written) to communicate effectively and complete technical documentation
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to analyze and interpret technical data
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

 


 

Work Conditions

  • Standing, walking, and occasional lifting required
  • Exposure to food manufacturing equipment and production environments

  • Work is performed at the employer’s manufacturing and laboratory facility
