Drywall Installer

Description

Mander Interiors Inc. is currently hiring experienced Drywall Installers to join our residential renovation team in Winnipeg.

We have two full-time, permanent positions available. Work is performed on-site at various residential construction locations.

What You'll Be Doing

You will be responsible for a variety of drywall installation and finishing tasks, including:

• Measuring, cutting, fitting, and installing drywall sheets
• Positioning and securing sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists
• Cutting and installing metal corner beads to protect exterior corners
• Taping over joints using a taping machine and embedding tape in compound
• Filling joints, nail indentations, holes, and cracks with joint compound using a trowel and broad knife
• Smoothing out excess compound and allowing coats to dry

This is hands-on physical work in a fast-paced construction environment.

Work Environment

• On-site only (no remote work)
• Residential construction projects
• Bending, crouching, and kneeling
• Physically demanding
• Large workload with repetitive tasks
• Standing for extended periods
• Handling heavy loads, up to 45 kg (100 lbs)

Requirements

• Secondary (high school) graduation certificate
• 3 to less than 5 years of drywall installation experience
• Own vehicle for transportation to job sites
• Own tools/equipment
• Steel-toed safety boots
• Good hand-eye co-ordination
• Reliable and able to work well in a team

Position Details

• Location: 7-305 F Madison Street, Winnipeg, MB, R3J 1H8 (various job sites)
• Employment type: Full-time, permanent
• Hours: 35 to 40 hours per week
• Wage: $28.00 – $32.00 per hour (to be negotiated)
• Schedule: Day, evening, and morning shifts; flexible hours; on-call and weekend work as required
• Overtime: Overtime may be required and is available
• Start date: As soon as possible
