Position Info:

• Position: Geophysical Technician
• Terms of employment: Full-time, Permanent
• Wage: $80,500 – $81,500/year (depending on experience)
• Working Hours: 30-40 hours/week
• Number of Positions:  1

Job Duties:

• Carry out geological, geophysical, and geochemical survey work, including prospecting expeditions, exploratory drilling operations, and well logging
• Oversee the planning and execution of geological and geophysical survey programs
• Examine and interpret data relating to petroleum and mineral reservoir characteristics
• Manage the drilling, completion, and work-over processes for oil and gas wells
• Coordinate the preparation of rock, mineral, and metal samples for laboratory analysis
• Undertake physical and chemical laboratory testing procedures on collected samples
• Formulate mitigation measures to reduce adverse environmental impacts from mining and oil and gas operations
• Execute environmental audit procedures
• Compile field notes, sketches, geological maps, and cross-sectional diagrams

Job Requirements:

• Language: English
• Education: completion of a 1 or 2-year college program in electronics or geological technology or in a related discipline is required
• Experience: 3-5 years of related experience is required
