Position Info:

• Position: Cook
• Terms of employment: Full-time, Permanent
• Wage: $17.50~$18.00/hour (depending on experience)
• Working Hours: 30-44 hours/week
• Number of Positions:  1
• Work Location: 5201 Highway Avenue, Blackfalds, AB T0M 0J0

Job Duties:

• Prepare traditional Japanese dishes and sushi items following established recipes and presentation standards
• Cook individual menu orders and complete meal courses to restaurant specifications
• Portion ingredients per dish according to standard recipes to control food costs and reduce waste
• Modify recipes and preparation methods to accommodate customer allergies and dietary restrictions
• Oversee kitchen staff during daily meal preparation and service periods
• Instruct new cooks on proper food handling, sanitation, and preparation techniques
• Inspect ingredients and finished dishes for freshness and quality before service
• Record inventory levels for food supplies and kitchen equipment
• Order food stock and kitchen supplies to maintain adequate inventory levels
• Coordinate with servers to ensure timely delivery of orders to customers

Job requirements:

• Language: English
• Education: Completion of secondary school is required
• Experience: 2-3 years of commercial cooking experience is required
