Hours:                   8 hours per day, 40 hours per week

Role Overview

The Inventory Analyst role supports our company’s purchasing and supply planning activities by analyzing demand, managing purchase orders, and coordinating with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate inventory availability. The position requires a strong foundation in inventory planning, demand forecasting, and supply chain coordination within a manufacturing or distribution environment. The role is analytical in nature and involves regular interaction with vendors, logistics providers, and cross‑functional internal teams to support efficient and reliable supply operations.

 

Main Duties

  • Analyze historical sales data, demand trends, and seasonality to develop demand forecasts that support purchasing, replenishment, and supply planning activities.
  • Review inventory requirements and sales forecasts to determine material and product needs, supporting timely purchasing and order planning.
  • Create, manage, and monitor purchase orders throughout the order lifecycle to ensure accurate quantities, timely deliveries, and continuity of supply.
  • Maintain inventory availability across multiple distribution centers to meet service‑level requirements of retail partners and contractors.
  • Communicate regularly with vendors to confirm specifications, quantities, delivery schedules, and order status, and to resolve supply or delivery issues as they arise.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders, including Production, Sales, Customer Service, and Logistics, to align purchasing activities with operational requirements and ensure timely replenishment.
  • Work with logistics providers and internal teams to support shipment planning, monitor deliveries, and address transportation or inventory transfer issues.
  • Analyze inventory levels, supply performance, and cost factors to identify opportunities to reduce excess inventory, avoid stockouts, and improve overall supply efficiency.
  • Prepare inventory analyses, forecasts, and reports for management to support purchasing decisions, operational planning, and supply chain coordination.
  • Support new product launches by ensuring materials and finished goods are purchased accurately based on initial forecasts and delivered in advance of launch timelines.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, Logistics, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in inventory planning, demand forecasting, or supply chain operations within a manufacturing or distribution environment.
  • 3+ years of experience performing historical sales analysis and developing demand forecasts to support purchasing, replenishment, or inventory planning decisions.
  • 3+ years of experience creating, managing, and monitoring purchase orders and coordinating with suppliers or vendors to support timely and accurate supply.
  • 3+ years of experience working cross‑functionally with internal teams such as production, sales, customer service, and logistics to support inventory availability and order fulfillment.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with ERP systems and data analysis tools, including experience using systems such as SAP or NetSuite and advanced Excel to analyze inventory data, develop projections, and prepare reports.
