Description
We are looking for experienced Food Service Managers for Ma-Ro Catering located at 31 Railside Rd, #3, North York, ON M3A 1B2, Canada.

JOB DUTIES:
Plan, organize, direct, and evaluate all food service and catering operations for daily production, weddings, corporate events, and private functions, ensuring alignment with Maro Catering’s service standards and client expectations.
Oversee menu development for fusion-inspired dishes by coordinating with chefs, selecting seasonal ingredients, considering dietary requirements, and ensuring authentic representation of the company’s culinary style.
Supervise, train, and schedule kitchen and service staff, ensuring effective workflow, high-quality food production, and adherence to company procedures and food safety standards.
Maintain oversight of food preparation activities by monitoring quality, taste, presentation, and portion control, and by supporting cooking tasks when required during peak service times or special events.
Coordinate event-specific production plans by determining food quantities, preparation timelines, staffing needs, and service logistics to ensure smooth execution for catered functions.
Manage inventory and procurement activities by ordering ingredients, supplies, and equipment, verifying deliveries, monitoring stock levels, and controlling waste to maintain cost efficiency.
Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and occupational health regulations, including maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment.
Oversee communication with clients to understand event requirements, menu preferences, dietary considerations, and service expectations, and ensure these are reflected in operational planning.
Resolve customer feedback or concerns related to food quality, service, or event execution, implementing corrective actions to maintain high customer satisfaction.
Inspect kitchen and storage facilities regularly to ensure proper maintenance, organization, equipment functionality, and adherence to safety and quality standards.
Prepare and maintain operational documentation such as production schedules, staff records, inventory logs, menu specifications, costing sheets, and event reports.
Work closely with chefs and culinary staff to support consistency in cuisine offerings, ensuring dishes reflect the company’s signature taste, creativity, and cultural authenticity.
Participate in forecasting activities for ingredients, labour, and event needs, ensuring efficient resource allocation and operational readiness.
Prerequisites:
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience & Skills: 5 years or more experience in Food Industry
Language: English
Hourly Rate: $36 to $38 per Hour for 30 to 40 Hours per week
Starting Date: As soon as possible
Terms of Employment: Fulltime and permanent
Benefits: 4 % Vacation Pay
