Description

We are looking for well-experienced Sous Chef for a well-known restaurant “Browns Socialhouse”, located at A #101- 1180 Columbia St W, Kamloops, BC, V2C 6R6, Canada. As well as various locations in the region.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Prepare and cook complete meals and specialty items, including proteins, sauces, soups, bowls, appetizers, and signature dishes.

  • Demonstrate proper cooking techniques, kitchen processes, and safe equipment use to uphold culinary and operational standards.

  • Support the Head Chef in planning and overseeing daily kitchen operations to ensure consistent execution of Browns Socialhouse menu standards.

  • Supervise cooks and kitchen staff by assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and enforcing standardized recipes and quality specifications.

  • Train and coach kitchen staff on preparation methods, portion control, plating, garnishing, and presentation to maintain brand consistency.

  • Assist with menu planning and recipe development, contributing ideas for new dishes aligned with Browns Socialhouse flavour profiles.

  • Monitor inventory levels, inspect ingredients for quality and freshness, and requisition food and supplies as required.

  • Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health regulations, including adherence to HACCP and cleanliness standards.

  • Prepare specialty or customized menu items for events, group bookings, or promotional offerings when required.

  • Support cost control efforts by monitoring portioning, waste, and kitchen efficiency to meet food-cost targets.

 

Prerequisites:

 

Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience

Experience & Skills: 5 years or more of experience in the food industry.

Language English


 

Hourly Rate: $36.60 to $38.00  per hour for 30 to 40 Hours per week

 

Starting Date: As soon as possible

 

Terms of Employment: Fulltime and permanent

 

Benefits:  4 % Vacation Pay
