Greater Vancouver Zoo is looking for two Animal Care Workers in Aldergrove, BC location. The details are as follows:

Wages: 19 CAD per hour

Duration of Job: Full time, Permanent

Main duties

• Prepare and distribute animal feed according to established schedules and dietary guidelines.
• Clean, disinfect, and maintain animal enclosures, cages, barns, pens, and holding areas to ensure sanitary conditions.
• Remove animal waste, soiled bedding, and debris from enclosures and surrounding areas.
• Sweep, mop, scrub, and pressure wash floors, walls, feeding areas, and service corridors.
• Sanitize food preparation areas, feeding equipment, water containers, and tools.
• Dispose of garbage, organic waste, and recycling materials in accordance with zoo procedures.
• Clean public viewing areas adjacent to animal habitats to ensure a safe and pleasant visitor experience.
• Replenish bedding materials and assist with setting up enclosures as directed.
• Monitor animal behaviour and report any visible signs of illness, injury, or unusual behaviour to supervisors.
• Assist with safe animal handling and movement under supervision when required.
• Operate cleaning equipment and tools safely, following workplace health and safety guidelines.
• Ensure compliance with sanitation standards, animal welfare guidelines, and occupational health and safety regulations.

Employment requirements

• No Education required
• Previous work experience is an asset.  
• Reliable and hard working
