Position Info:

• Position: Head Chef
• Terms of employment: Full-time, Permanent
• Wage: $37.00/hour
• Working Hours: 30-40 hours/week
• Number of Positions:  1
• Work Location: 11156 84 Avenue, Delta, BC V4C 2L7

Job Duties:

• Develop and update menu offerings while ensuring that all dishes meet the restaurant’s quality and presentation standards
• Oversee and coordinate the daily activities of cooks and kitchen staff to maintain efficient kitchen operations
• Prepare and cook a variety of sushi and Japanese specialty dishes in accordance with established recipes and standards
• Monitor and record food costs, ingredient usage, and inventory levels to support effective kitchen cost control
• Order and manage food ingredients and kitchen supplies to ensure sufficient stock for daily operations
• Introduce new culinary techniques and provide guidance on the proper use of kitchen equipment to improve food preparation processes
• Train and mentor kitchen staff in food preparation methods, cooking techniques, and safe food handling procedures

Job requirements:

• Experience: 3-5 years of commercial cooking experience is required
• Education: Completion of secondary school is required
• Language: English
