We are seeking a reliable, organized, and proactive full-time home child care provider to support our family in caring for a school-aged child and managing light household tasks. Parents are typically present in the home. This position requires evening and weekend availability and is heavily focused on after-school transportation, daily cleanup related to the child, and maintaining organized common areas. Parking spot available.

Main duties

• Ensure and maintain a consistently safe, clean, and healthy environment at home to care for the child.
• Assume full responsibility for household operations during parental absences, including emergency response and basic home security.
• Oversee daily activities of the child in the private household, including taking the child to appointments, events, and activities before- and after-school.
• May be required to perform light housekeeping, cleaning, laundering the child’s clothing/linens, and cooking duties including buying groceries and household supplies when needed.
• Plan and prepare nutritious, age-appropriate meals (e.g. lunch for school) and snacks, adhering to specific dietary restrictions or allergies.
• Foster the child’s social and emotional growth by implementing positive reinforcement and age-appropriate discipline as directed by parents.
• Maintain detailed daily logs documenting the child’s behavior, milestones, and health status if required; Communicate proactively with parents regarding the child’s progress and any concerns involving their well-being.

Employment Requirements

• First Aid Certificate is required.
• Background check (Child Abuse Registry check and Criminal Record check) will be conducted.
• Completion of secondary school may be required.
• Child care or household management experience may be required.
• Flexible availability for weekends and holidays is required.
• Must be fluent in English.
