Wage: $18.50/Hr for 30-40 hours/week

Job Brief:

Vintage Farms is looking for Greenhouse Labour workers to assist with planting, watering, harvesting, sorting and packaging crops in a safe and efficient manner. workers will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness within the greenhouse, following workplace saftey procedures, and supporting daily greenhouse operations as required.

Job Duties:

• Clear and collect brush and debris from fields and other work areas
• Cultivate on vertical farming system
• Cut horticultural crops
• Divide fresh harvested produce into marketable lots and non-marketable lots
• Hand harvesting vegetables
• Level earth to fine grade specifications
• Mixing fertilizer
• Remove manually all suckers and water sprouts
• Seed cutting
• Tie and secure plants
• Weeding
• Write daily basic progress reports
• Assist in pruning trees, shrubs and plants
• Mix and prepare soils
• Plant bulbs and seeds
• Pot and re-pot plants
• Transplant seedlings or rooted cuttings
• Apply fertilizers
• Report signs of insect or disease damage
• Assist in grafting activities
• Dig up wrapping rootballs of trees and shrubs
• Water and tend to plants, lawns and/or gardens
• Clean work area

Requirements:

• Language: Basic English is a requirement
• Education: No degree requirement
• Experience: No experience needed

Core skills:

• Able to stand and walk for long periods of time
• Must be attentive and detail-oriented
• able to work outdoors
