Location Of Work: Port Coquitlam, British Columbia, with work at various customer and construction sites throughout in the Lower Mainland–Southwest Region. Transportation between the employer’s facility and assigned project sites will be provided or paid by the employer.

Number Of Vacancies: 1

Terms Of Employment: Permanent, full-time

Wage: $37.00 per hour

Hours: 40 hours per week

Work Schedule: Eight hours per day, generally Monday to Friday. The schedule may vary according to project requirements.

Overtime: Overtime will be paid in accordance with the British Columbia Employment Standards Act. 

Start Date: As soon as possible

Job Duties:

·      Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, specifications and work orders.

·      Measure and mark glass, frames and installation locations according to specifications.

·      Prepare and assemble aluminum frames and related glazing components.

·      Install aluminum windows, doors, skylights and architectural-glazing systems.

·      Position and install glass into windows, doors, skylight frames and other structures.

·      Install structural glass canopies, railings and related components.

·      Install seals, gaskets, mouldings, fasteners, anchors and weatherproofing materials.

·      Apply self-adhered membranes, sealants and caulking according to manufacturer instructions and project specifications.

·      Operate glazing tools, power tools, glass-handling equipment, ladders, scaffolding and access equipment.

·      Inspect completed installations for alignment, secure placement, weather tightness and compliance with specifications.

·      Repair or replace damaged glass and glazing components when required.

·      Load, unload, move and position glass and glazing materials safely.

·      Coordinate work with supervisors, project managers and other construction trades.

·      Follow company policies, WorkSafeBC requirements, fall-protection procedures and construction-site safety rules.

·      Maintain tools, equipment and work areas in a safe and orderly condition.

 

Education:

·      Completion of secondary school or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Experience:

·      A minimum of two years of relevant glazing or architectural-glass installation experience.

 

Required Skills:

·      Experience reading drawings and installation specifications.

·      Experience installing windows, doors, skylights, canopies, railings or comparable architectural-glazing systems.

·      Experience with European windows systems such as Schuco and Keller Minimal Windows

·      Knowledge of glazing tools, sealants, membranes and weatherproofing methods.

·      Ability to use hand tools, power tools, ladders and material-handling equipment safely.

·      Ability to perform physically demanding work, handle heavy materials and work at heights.

·      Ability to communicate in English for workplace instructions, safety and coordination.

 

Other Information:

·      Glazier trade certification is an asset but is not required.
