We are looking for an organized, proactive, and detail-oriented Food Processing Quality Control Technologist to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting food safety programs, maintaining quality standards, conducting analytical testing, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and manufacturing requirements within our food processing facility.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct or assist in air, water, and environmental quality testing to support regulatory compliance and food safety programs.
  • Set up and perform chemical experiments, tests, and analyses on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products.
  • Experience with chemical and analytical testing methods such as pH, Brix, viscosity, and allergen verification
  • Develop and implement sampling and analytical programs to monitor product quality and manufacturing conditions.
  • Compile, maintain, and interpret records for analytical studies and experimental results to support production and quality decisions.
  • Support quality assurance and control activities, including product evaluation and formulation support.
  • Assist in the development of standards, health and safety measures, and continuous improvement initiatives within the production environment.
  • Ensure strict adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), HACCP principles, and food safety procedures.
  • Participate in environmental monitoring programs and protection activities within the food processing facility.
  • Assist with studies related to chemical engineering processes, including procurement, inspection, and maintenance activities.
  • Conduct workplace safety training programs and promote compliance with safety regulations.
  • Utilize computer applications such as MS Office to prepare reports, track data, and maintain technical documentation.
  • Collaborate with production and technical teams to support efficient manufacturing operations in the food and beverage sector.

Work Conditions

  • Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely.
  • Fast-paced food processing environment requiring a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Job Requirements

Education:
College/CEGEP diploma in Food Science, Food Technology and Processing, Food Science and Technology, Public Health, or a related field.

Experience:
2 years to less than 3 years in quality assurance/quality control in the food manufacturing or production industry

Certificates:
Food Safety Certificate required.

Technical Knowledge and Specialization:

  • Sampling and analytical techniques
  • Knowledge of HACCP, GMP, BRC, allergen and food safety regulations
  • Quality assurance and control
  • Environmental monitoring
  • Food chemistry
  • Product development and formulation
  • Experience within the food and beverage manufacturing sector
