Electrical mechanic

Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Electrical Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining industrial motors, switchgear, transformers, and related electro-mechanical equipment. This is a physically demanding role that requires precision, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.

Employment Details

• Location: North York, ON M6A 1K2
• Wage: $40/hour + overtime pay
• Hours: 35 hours per week
• Employment Type: Full-time, On-site 

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints to determine work requirements
• Test and observe electrical and mechanical conditions of equipment
• Troubleshoot and repair electric motors, transformers, switchgear, generators, and other electro-mechanical equipment
• Fabricate or recondition parts using machining tools
• Replace or recondition shafts, bearings, commutators, and other components
• Weld or braze components as required
• Instruct apprentices and provide technical guidance
• Perform machining to recondition or modify parts such as shafts and commutators
• Conduct on-site servicing and repair
• Test and repair or replace faulty wiring or components in electrical switchgear
• Test repaired motors, transformers, and switchgear to ensure proper performance

Requirements

• College/CEGEP diploma in related fields
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience
• Proficient with industrial motors, switchgears, shafts, bearings, and switches
• Physically fit and able to handle heavy loads
• Strong teamwork and accuracy skills
• English language required
