Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and caring Early Childhood Educator for a full-time, permanent position at Redwood Academy, located at 11060 Horseshoe Way Unit 120, Richmond, BC. In this role, you will collaborate with other educators to support the daily activities and developmental needs of young children, helping create a positive and engaging learning environment. You will play a key part in fostering children's social, emotional, and cognitive development through age-appropriate activities while ensuring a safe and inclusive space. We have one position available with an anticipated start date as soon as possible.

Responsibilities:

  • Create a fun, engaging, and supportive environment where children enjoy both play and learning throughout the day.
  • Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that support children’s social, emotional, cognitive, and skill development, while observing and adjusting programming as needed, including storytelling, singing, physical activity, arts and crafts.
  • Foster a positive classroom atmosphere that promotes respect, kindness, and inclusivity, ensuring every child feels welcomed and valued.
  • Observe, assess, and document children’s behavior and developmental progress, and adjust programming as needed.
  • Support children and families by fostering positive, respectful, and meaningful relationships with children, parents, and staff.
  • Communicate regularly with parents or guardians through meetings, written reports, and informal daily updates.
  • Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all children at all times.
  • Guide and assist children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits.
  • Participate in team meetings to discuss children's progress, behavior, and any concerns, collaborating with the team to ensure the success of each child.

Requirements:

  • Completion of a college program in Early Childhood Education is required.
  • Valid Early Childhood Educator (ECE) certification.
  • At least one year of previous experience working with young children (infant, toddler, or preschool experience).
  • Current First Aid or CPR Certification.
  • Medical Examination and Criminal Record Check (or willingness to obtain them)
  • Strong understanding of child development principles and early learning philosophies.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute to a positive classroom culture.
  • Patience, creativity, and the ability to engage with children in a positive and nurturing manner.
