Description

We are looking for a well-experienced Chef De Partie – Tandoor to work at Sula Indian Restaurant Davie Street located at 1708 Davie St, Vancouver, BC V6G 2K7, Canada.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan, organize, and direct all tandoor station operations, setting daily production targets and service priorities.

  • Lead execution of specialty Indian tandoori dishes and breads, ensuring authenticity, consistency, and presentation standards are met.

  • Control tandoor oven strategy, including heat zones, firing schedules, and cooking sequences, to optimize output and service timing.

  • Determine daily mise en place requirements for the tandoor section, forecasting quantities based on reservations, takeout, and event volume.

  • Supervise, allocate tasks to, and coordinate cooks and kitchen helpers assigned to the tandoor station.

  • Enforce portion standards, cooking specifications, and quality controls to maintain consistency and manage food cost.

  • Train and mentor team members on advanced tandoor techniques, safety procedures, and station discipline.

  • Coordinate with the Head Chef and other Chef de Parties to align station output with menu execution and service flow.

  • Contribute to menu development and refinement by testing tandoori items and advising on feasibility, timing, and presentation.

  • Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and operational standards, taking corrective action during service when required.

 

Prerequisites:

 

Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years or equivalent.

Experience & Skills: 5 years or more experience in the food industry.

Language: English

 

Hourly Rate: $3 to $38.00 for 30 to 40 Hours per week

Starting Date: As soon as possible

Terms of Employment: Fulltime and permanent
