• Position: Head Chef
• Terms of employment: Full-time, Permanent
• Wage: $38.50/hour
• Working Hours: 30-40 hours/week
• Number of Positions:  2
• Work Location: 103-33640 South Fraser Highway, Abbotsford, BC V2S 2B9

Job Duties:

• Plan and develop menus while maintaining consistent food quality and presentation standards.
• Supervise cooks and other kitchen staff and coordinate daily food preparation and cooking activities.
• Train and instruct kitchen staff on food preparation, cooking techniques, presentation, and safe food-handling practices.
• Prepare and cook meals and specialty dishes as required, including food for special orders or functions.
• Develop new dishes and improve existing recipes to maintain menu quality and variety.
• Estimate food and supply requirements and monitor food, labour, and overall kitchen operating costs.
• Maintain records of food costs, inventory levels, consumption, and kitchen supplies.
• Order food products, ingredients, and kitchen supplies and ensure appropriate stock levels are maintained.
• Monitor portioning, preparation methods, taste, presentation, and overall food quality before service.
• Prepare or oversee dishes for customers with food allergies, intolerances, or other dietary requirements.
• Introduce appropriate cooking techniques and equipment to kitchen staff to improve efficiency and consistency.
• Coordinate the maintenance, repair, and replacement of kitchen equipment when required.

Job requirements:

• Language: English
• Experience: Minimum 5 years of professional cooking experience in a commercial kitchen, including experience supervising cook and other kitchen staff
• Education: Completion of secondary school is required
