Floor covering installer

Harman Creations Ltd. located at 3352 4th Avenue, Port Alberni, BC, V9Y 4G9 is looking for a full- time Floor covering installer. Even though this Is a full-time position, part-time applicants are also encouraged to apply. Wages will be $36.60/hr and 30 hours/week.

 

Duties:

Inspect, measure and mark surfaces to be covered

Measure, cut and fasten underlay and underpadding

Measure, cut and install carpeting 

Stretch carpeting and secure carpeting to floor or other surfaces 

Measure, cut and install resilient floor covering 

Install hardwood floors, such as strip floors, block floors or plank floors

Inspect and repair damaged floor coverings

May estimate material and labour costs.

 

Requirements: Completion of secondary school is usually required. 2 years to less than 3 years related experience or completion of a two- to three-year apprenticeship program or over four years of work experience in the trade and some courses in floor covering installation are usually required to be eligible for trade certification which is optional in British Columbia.
