Job Details

– Position: Concrete finisher (NOC 73100)
– Vacancy: 1
– Employment Terms: Permanent, Full-Time
– Hourly Wage: C$37.00 to C$38.00 (depending on experience)
– Working Hours: 30 to 40 hours per week
– Job Location: Various Locations in the Vancouver Island and Coast Region
– Vacation: 10 days of paid vacation per year or 4% of gross salary
– Start Date: As soon as possible
– Work Conditions: Physically demanding, Attention to detail
– Work Setting: Commercial, Residential, Various locations

Job Requirements

– Education: Completion of Secondary (high) school
– Experience: 2 to 3 years of experience
– Personal Suitability: Accurate, Team player, Flexibility
– Language of work: English

Job Duties

– Inspect formwork, base layers, and steel reinforcement before concrete placement
– Pour concrete into forms or onto prepared surfaces according to grade
– Fill depressions and smooth out imperfections on freshly laid concrete
– Create cost estimates and prepare project proposals
– Use power vibrators to consolidate concrete
– Level and grade concrete surfaces according to specifications
– Apply desired finishes to concrete using hand tools and power equipment
– Treat concrete surfaces with curing compounds and sealants
– Apply waterproofing or damp-proofing and restore concrete surfaces
– Repair, resurface, or replace deteriorated or damaged concrete sections
– Read, interpret, and follow blueprints, technical drawings, and project specifications
