Description

Chiba Sushi is currently seeking a dedicated and reliable cook to join our team. This is a full-time, permanent position in a fast-paced restaurant setting located in an urban area away from downtown. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, the ability to work under pressure with Japanese cuisine experience and a commitment to quality food preparation & kitchen operation.
 

Requirements

Languages: English

Education

Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

Specialty in Janpanese cuisine

Food safe level 1

 

Experience

3-5 years kitchen experience,

Japanese cuisine experience 1-2 years

 

Responsibilities &tasks

Prepare &cook complete meals or individual dishes

Inspect kitchens & food service areas

Train staffs in preparation, cooking &handling of food

Order supplies & equipments

Maintain inventory & records of food, supplies & equipments

Clean kitchen & work areas

Manage kitchen operations

Help cut sashimi and make sushi rolls when needed

 

Work conditions & physical capabilities

Abilities to stand for extended periods

Withstand heat & deal with pressure in a fast-paced environment

Handling heavy loads

Attention to details &reliable

Great team player & can work independently too

Flexibility

Good time management & organizational skills

 

 

Compensations

wage $26/hr with 3-5 years kitchen experience & 1-2 years Japanese cuisine experience

32.5-40 hrs/week, variable on businesss's needs
