Position Info:

• Position: Cook
• Terms of employment: Full-time, Permanent
• Wage: $17.00-$18.00/hour (depending on experience)
• Working Hours: 30-40 hours/week
• Number of Positions:  1
• Work Location: 5-1194 Taylor Ave, Winnipeg, MB R3M 3Y8

Benefits:

Job Duties:

• Slice and portion raw fish and proteins for sushi burritos, poké bowls, and rice bowls
• Cook and season sushi rice and prep marinades, sauces, and toppings
• Cost out portions to keep ingredients consistent and reduce waste
• Adapt dishes for guests with food allergies or intolerances, including gluten-free options
• Train kitchen staff on proper food handling, rice prep, and sauce-making
• Order fish, produce, and other ingredients and supplies as stock runs low
• Supervise kitchen staff and helpers during lunch and dinner service
• Maintain inventory records for seafood, rice, and toppings
• Follow food safety standards when handling raw fish and perishables
• Keep prep stations, sushi counter, and equipment clean and sanitized

Job Requirements:

• Language: English
• Education: Completion of secondary school is required
• Experience: 2-3 years of commercial cooking experience is required
