Description
The Himalaya Restaurant is looking for a Restaurant Food Buyer, located at 3-160 Centennial Parkway North, Hamilton, Ontario, L8E 1H9
Full time, 5 days/30-40 hours per week
Education- Secondary (high) school graduate
Experience- 1 to 2 years of relevant experience
On Site- Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely
Job duties-
As a Restaurant Food Buyer, you are responsible for performing duties as mentioned below:
- Purchase raw materials and supplies for the preparation of food items based on restaurant sales,
- seasonality and demand forecasts
- Create and send purchase orders to vendors before the order cut-off times on a daily basis
- Identify, consult vendors and suppliers, review quotations, negotiate prices and supply
- conditions to finalize purchase agreements with suppliers
- Conduct regular inventory analysis and adjust buying strategy accordingly
- Assist with completing and analyzing weekly and monthly inventory
