Job Description: DHI Transport Ltd. is currently hiring 10 full-time, permanent Long Haul Truck Drivers to join our team as soon as possible. The position involves long-distance transportation of fresh produce, refrigerated food products, and other temperature-sensitive cargo using commercial trucks and refrigerated trailers.

Drivers will safely operate heavy commercial vehicles, follow scheduled routes and delivery timelines, monitor refrigerated equipment and cargo condition, maintain trip and inspection records, and communicate with dispatch, customers, warehouse staff, and transportation officials. The role requires reliability, safety awareness, attention to detail, and the ability to travel for extended periods while complying with company procedures and transportation regulations

 

Job Duties:

  • Operate straight or semi-trailer trucks weighing 40,000–47,000 kg with three or more axles to transport goods and materials safely over long distances in various weather and road conditions.
  • Drive individually, as part of a two-person team, or in a convoy depending on route distance, delivery timelines, load sensitivity, and company operational requirements.
  • Plan trip routes and delivery schedules to ensure timely pickup and delivery of perishable goods, including reviewing route conditions, border requirements, rest periods, and customer delivery windows.
  • Obtain and maintain required transportation documents, permits, border paperwork, bills of lading, inspection reports, and other records required for domestic and international freight movement.
  • Load, unload, secure, and monitor cargo in accordance with company procedures, food transportation standards, road safety requirements, and applicable transportation regulations.
  • Inspect refrigerated trailers and related equipment before and during trips to ensure proper operation of temperature-control systems, cold storage units, doors, seals, tires, lights, brakes, and safety equipment.
  • Perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections of the truck and trailer, and report mechanical issues, refrigeration concerns, cargo concerns, or safety defects to dispatch or maintenance staff.
  • Monitor the condition of the vehicle, trailer, and refrigerated cargo during transit to help prevent delays, product spoilage, temperature variation, or safety-related issues.
  • Record and maintain accurate trip documentation, including driver logbooks, hours of service, cargo details, temperature checks where required, distance travelled, fuel consumption, inspection reports, and delivery records.
  • Communicate with dispatch, warehouse staff, customers, border officials, and other drivers using mobile communication devices, on-board systems, and company reporting procedures.
  • Perform emergency roadside repairs and basic vehicle maintenance as required.

 

Credentials (certificate s, licenses, memberships, courses, etc.): Class one driver license or Equivalent Heavy License with the air brake (Z) endorsement and driver’s abstract or equivalent.

 

Documentation Knowledge: Driver logbook, bill of lading, inspection report (pre-trip. en-route, post-trip), trans-border documentation, maintenance and repair reports, trip reports.

 

Transportation/ Travel Information: Willing to travel cross-border, willing to travel for extended periods (at least 2-4 days away from home), willing to travel overnight, willing to drive as a team.
