Work Hours: 30.00 hours per week

Wages: $20.00 CAD per hour

Duration of Job: Full time, Permanent

Main duties

· Supervise child at all times to stay aware of physical and emotional needs and to maintain constant safety.

· Plan, prepare and serve meals for child and perform other related housekeeping duties

· Oversee child's activities, such as meals and rest periods, as instructed by parent

· Maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home

· Instruct child in personal hygiene

· Tend to the emotional well-being of child and support social development

· Discipline child according to the methods requested by the parent 

· Provide age-appropriate educational training through organized activities such as games, crafts, reading and outings

· Take child to and from school, appointments and after school activities

· Keep records of daily activities and health information.

· Accompany child to the community center, library, park, and other places as required.

· Watches for any signs of behavioural or emotional problems in child and alerts parent to the problems.

· Perform other related duties as required.

 

Employment requirements

• Completion of secondary school is required.

• Completion of relevant education or training program as a care provider or previous experience in a similar role.

• First aid certification is required.
