Early Childhood Educator

 

Strongsteps Children's Learning Centre in Langley, BC, is looking for a Full-Time, Permanent Early Childhood Educator.

 

Conditions

·          Position: Early Childhood Educator (NOC 42202)

·          Full-time, Permanent Position, 35-40 hours per week

·          Hourly Wage: $27.50 per hour

·          Vacation: 4% of vacation fee

·          Benefit: Extended medical, dental, life insurance (After 90 probationary period)

·          Number of Positions: 1

   Requirements

·         Previous work experience in child care is an asset

·         Education: A college diploma in early childhood education is required

·         Credentials: First Aid Certificate, ECE (Early Childhood Educator) Certificate

·         Criminal Record Check

·         Language: English

 

Job Duties

·         Plan, implement, and supervise creative, age-appropriate activities that promote the growth and development of young children

·         Complete daily classroom set-up and clean-up

·         Provide strong, active, and direct supervision at all times

·         Observe, assess, and respond to the individual needs and goals of each child

·         Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all children

·         Work collaboratively with children, families, and centre staff in alignment with the centre’s philosophy

·         Work in conjunction with the Manager and/or Senior Educator to ensure children’s needs are met

·         Follow directions while making informed decisions in a fast-paced environment

·         Participate in team meetings and professional development opportunities

·         Maintain accurate records and use data to inform decision-making

·         Communicate effectively and professionally with parents and staff

·         Maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment for children and families
